Post your best work created specifically for the 2014 holiday season.
Rules:
1. Artist must be a member of the Silk Paintings Group to participate.
2. Silk Painting Group members may submit up to three silk paintings for the contest.
3. Paintings must depict a Christmas / Holiday theme and be created on silk in 2014.
4. Images must be posted and available on your FAA site for the duration of the contest.
5. Images may not be digitally altered.
6. Votes will only be accepted from FAA members who have belonged to the site for more than 30 days prior to the start of the contest and have at least 10 images uploaded to their portfolios.
7. Artist may post the contest participation notice on your FAA blog or your personal blog, FB pages and other social media. Doing so will promote voting from your followers and other FAA members,

Cover Art- issue 7a3 of Discover Fort Collins, Loveland & Northern Colorado. The magazine has finally hit news stands last week. It is a few issues later than what was intended but none the less it is here and it looks great. The online version is not updated as of yet but should be soon.
Of all the things I get a kick out of, it is looking at somebodies boots and spurs. You can tell a lot about a person by them. This is a series of paintings and hope to have the rest soon. Original Sold - Hand painting on silk allows the colors to pop, a depth in the silk and transparency can be achieved that is most satisfying to me as an artist.

Anderson R. Moore is a Colorado based Silk artist, striving to evoke emotional responses to her paintings and other works through the paint brush. Most of her paintings are large works, and color is important in telling the story.

Anderson R. Moore is a Colorado based Silk artist, striving to evoke emotional responses to her paintings and other works through the paint brush. Most of her paintings are large works, and color is important in telling the story.

Local Artist Anderson R. Moore to exhibit "The Dance- Sandhill Cranes" a 42" w x 45" h, an original handpainted silk panel, at the Ratner Museum in Bethesda, Maryland from May2, through July 31, 2013, in the SPIN Members Last exhibit at the museum.

Artists Description of the painting: Sandhill Cranes Dance-( the Male Bird on Right- Is in a Bow, the female on the Left is doing a Curtsey) - Handpainted with steamset dyes, no resist used. Sandhill Crane body language is ongoing daily with nine distinct displays,showing arousal, and recruits others to dance. During the Dance- Pre- Adult Cranes, will practice dancing for years until they select a mate. Adult cranes dance for each other facilitating bonding, allows rivals to asses one another. Parents educate their young chicks and adolescents by dancing with them. It is believed they will also dance just because they are happy and enjoying life. There are 19 different displays for the Dance. Sandhill Cranes do not necessarily mate for life, but their family and young may stay together for several years before the pre adults leave the family and group with other teenagers.
Anderson, is a self taught artist, currently residing in Northern Colorado and has been painting for over 30 years.

Shows of her Fly Fishing Art in Pastels, Watercolor and Scratchboard have been successfully held in the Pacific Northwest and Rocky Mountain Region over the past eight years.

Anderson has only recently made the decision to be a full time artist. Currently, her primary focus has been in the ancient art of Silk Painting. Creating large silk paintings and providing instruction in the medium, using steam set dyes. The intensity of the colors as the dye takes to the silk, is unlike anything she had ever experienced. By expending tireless energy creating with these dyes and the luxury that silk provides is a meaningful days work for Anderson. Her diversity as a painter has allowed her to hone in on a style and be able to focus on the topics she loves, slivers of the old west and history and near or endangered birds often forgotten by modern urbanites.

Anderson's work currently hangs in private collections, corporations, in Seattle, WA, Kent WA, and surrounding areas in Washington, Black Hills SD, New York City, NY, Livermore CO, Fort Collins, CO, and Peck ID.

Welcome to my blog.
Been really busy, traveling a little and taking a few new classes. I was fortunate to spend a recent Saturday with Jeffrey L. Waters in North Bend Wa. His class was excellent. We painted several pieces and putting to use the techniques he presented, and insight into the path of a watercolorist. There are many resources available to us here in the PNW, and http://www.nwws.org is one of them.

I am going to be in the Copper Flame Show that runs from June 27th to July 3rd 2011.
My artwork will be on display in the Sussex Room.
